• finally updating my main domain name borzack.com : a photoblog called Colors Of My Life

It’s only the 3rd days of the 2009 and  I’m so lucky that I already made some extra money online.

On January 1st, I received my monthly payment of $15 from my direct advertising on my health blog. I also received a payment of $25 from ReviewMe. A small amount of commission of $4.99 was received through a sale from another health site of mine. One more payment that I received on the same day is from a sale with MarketHealth with the amount of $45. The last income for the day came from Page Peel Ads (advertised via Adgitize!)

On January 2nd, I recieved my monthly payment of $56.72 from Text Link Ads and 2 sales from Page Peel Ads (advertised via Adgitize!)

This has been a good start for me. It’s all good

There are so many ways we can monetize our blog. Selling text links, advert slots and sponsored reviews to name a few. I made a couple of hundreds myself last year. However, I did not get 100% of the revenue. For instance, with Text Link Ads, I only get 50% of the revenue. For a $15 link on my blog, I only get $7.50. And I once did a $150 review with ReviewMe, but I only get $75. I’m happy with the extra money I made, but what if I can get 100% of them. That’s even better don’t you think!

In September 2008, I was contacted by a guy who wanted to buy text links on 3 of my health related blogs. He offered me $80 for a one year text link on each blog, making it $240 altogether. I was excited and I said yes, of course!

In November 2008, again I was contacted by a company in Australia. They wanted to buy a text link on one of my health blogs. They’re willing to pay $15 monthly. I was excited all over again, because this time I will get a monthly income. So I manually add the links, manually created a Paypal subscription button/link for them to subscribe ($15 monthly subscription) as I don’t know of any other way for them to automatically pay monthly.

Last week, I was contacted yet again by another company to buy text links on my health blogs. They’re willing to pay $20 monthly. Again I accepted the offer. Manually added the links, created another subscription bla bla bla.

So, as you guys can see, the potential of direct advertising is there. As our blogs grew (higher PR, Alexa etc is a bonus!) people would want to advertise on our blogs. If you want to monetize your blog, direct advertising can be the answer.  But doing the reviews, links etc manually can be a chore! This is where OIOPublisher comes in…
